1.If you could make one rule that everyone in the world had to follow, what would it be?
Disney World has always been a special place for my family and me. We have been fortunate to be able to go to Disney World several times so far in my life. I have always been the cautious child in the house, but thanks to my fearless little brother encouraging me to try something new, my favorite ride is now The Barnstormer Roller Coaster at Magic Kingdom. Stepping outside your comfort zone can be exciting!
2.If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
Several years ago, my Mom started a small vegetable garden in our backyard. It has grown in size over the years and it has now become a fun family activity. Every spring, family members get to plant their favorite vegetables. It takes hard work to prepare the garden, but being able to pick fresh vegetables for dinner every day is so worth it. We even recently experimented with planting cotton and had great success!
3.When do you feel a child or teen becomes an adult?
My Mom and Dad have always been active in canine rescue, so it was natural for me to rescue a little dog named Pebbles. She had been abandoned and left chained to a fence. Once we realized the family was not coming back for her, we rescued and adopted her. Pebbles taught me the meaning of forgiveness. Despite how badly she was treated by her former family, she showed us nothing but unconditional love.
4.What do you feel you have learned in life that will be the most useful?
Another activity that we do as a family is feeding the homeless. Whether it is preparing 125+ sack lunches on an early Saturday morning, or stopping by a local hamburger place to purchase food to distribute, it is always very well-received. The people we have met are so gracious and appreciative. It's amazing, and sad, how quickly that many meals can be passed out. It reminds me that service to others is a blessing.
5.What do you feel is the hardest job in the world and why?
I love to bake and try new recipes! My homemade iced sugar cookies, pineapple ice cream, pound cake, and tie-dyed spaghetti were all big hits! But I’ve also learned that the secret to success in baking is to closely follow the recipe. Recently, when baking a homemade German Chocolate cake, the center didn't rise because I missed one of the ingredients. You can learn from your mistakes if you smile and keep a positive attitude!
