Dalaney Johnson - Top Ten
1.If you could make one rule that everyone in the world had to follow, what would it be?
I have grandparents from Italy and the Island of Belize. I would love to visit both of these places because of my heritage and the amazing culture. My future college plans of studying fashion journalism hopefully include studying abroad. I'm excited to learn about new places but being so young I pride myself in where I come from, for now I’m proud to say, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania is home to me.
2.If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
When I was eight years old my family visited an indoor waterpark. With all the excitement the kids were running from one end of the suite to other and jumping out onto the balcony. Without my knowledge my mom closed the sliding glass door. I ran full speed and jumped into the glass door and slid down like a cartoon. To this day my mother still cannot keep a straight face while telling the story.
3.When do you feel a child or teen becomes an adult?
It would be a great opportunity to take my platform, “Positive Self Image”, further than just my backyard and making it nationwide. It's important to have a strong female presence in a girl’s life. If a girl respects her body, cares about her reputation and always has a positive mindset then she can accomplish anything. Imagine what this positive movement could do for our country right now. I would be honored to be that influence.
4.What do you feel you have learned in life that will be the most useful?
“The way you carry yourself is influenced by the way you feel inside. You must feel attractive to be attractive”. So I feel that beauty comes from within and that your energy introduces you before you even speak. To me beauty is a mindset, in order to be beautiful on the outside you must know it and feel it on the inside.
